This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were joined by a surprise 'new presenter' on Thursday morning's show.
Holly, 42, and Phillip, 61, who are said to be embroiled in a 'feud', were briefly replaced on the ITV daytime show, with a grey-faced robot named Ameca hosting the opening link instead of the duo on 18 May.
Viewers were greeted by the android, described as the world's most advanced robot, as they tuned into This Morning. "Welcome to your Thursday This Morning.This is the UK's number one daytime show, presented by Phillip and Holly," Ameca said. "There's so much coming up on the show today that I can't wait for you to hear all about it." Holly and Phillip then came into view, with Ameca remaining in the corner of the ITV studio.
Phillip looked scared of the android, as Holly said: "It is amazing, it's slightly freaking me out. I'm not going to lie. Phillip, I'm not sure." Many viewers poked fun at the presenting duo as they joked that the robot is Holly and Phillip's new "replacement", amid rumours that the pair are not as close as they once were.
