In 2021, Sohayb Farag left Qatar due to the life-threatening risks he faced as a journalist. Two years later, he is living in a tent in Trafford with nothing but a sleeping bag, some clothes, a pair of trainers and his official press card.

He uses cafes with charging points to keep his phone and laptop running, but struggles to find places to wash and keep his clothes clean, often having to rely on friends.

The former Al Jazeera journalist had his last asylum application approved - but he still has nowhere to live and has been told he doesn’t have ‘a priority need for accommodation’.
