A damning report into the Grenfell fire that claimed the lives of 72 people in a west London tower block has exposed a catalogue of official failings that led to the tragedy.

Over seven years after the disaster the final Grenfell Inquiry report was published yesterday - and it makes for grim reading.

Among the many conclusions, the report found that there were 'many opportunities' to identify the risks posed by 'combustible cladding panels and insulation', particularly in high-rise buildings - but the state failed to act.

But London wasn’t the only place affected by the aftermath of the tragedy. Within days of the blaze, buildings across the country were identified as being built with unsafe cladding.
