Thania Garcia Swifties in Liverpool were treated to the ultimate deep cut from Taylor Swift‘s discography — Calvin Harris‘ global smash with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For,” a song Swift co-wrote — as the surprise song for the “Eras Tour” show on Friday night.
For her second night in Liverpool, Swift performed the EDM single, weaving it into an acoustic medley that also included her song “Gold Rush,” and a piano cover of “The Great War,” and vault track, “You’re Losing Me.” For some context, Swift co-wrote “This Is What You Came For” under the pseudonym “Nils Sjöberg” in the same year the pair were dating.
Harris later confirmed the speculation that Swift had worked on the song, and that she “initially wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym,” in a series of tweets. “And she sings on a little bit of it too — Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual,” he wrote at the time.
It was reported that Swift and Harris mutually chose to hide Swift’s credit in order to not draw attention to their romantic relationship.
