Strictly Come Dancing's first results show on Sunday night saw viewers gutted for Les Dennis as he was the first celebrity to be axed from the competition alongside professional partner Nancy Xu.However, those tuning in spotted a touching tribute from BBC dancing professional Giovanni Pernice who is partnered up this year with Amanda Abbington as they got told they would make it into next week's show.Giovanni had been paired with the BBC dancing competition's first-ever deaf contestant Rose Ayling-Ellis in 2021 with the pair blowing audiences away with their breathtaking performances which saw them scoop the glitterball trophy.During their time on the show together, which saw them perform one dance half in silence to raise awareness for the deaf community, often used British Sign Language for 'Thank you' when they were voted through by the public.Fans on Sunday's first results show spotted that Giovanni continues to use the hand gesture as a nod to his former partner two years on according to reports in the Mirror.The pair have been doing well in the competition so far, with Amanda impressing the judges with how quickly she has picked up the steps just two weeks into the dancing competition as they impressed with their fiery Salsa to Oye by Gloria Estefan.They got high scores of eight from the judging panel across the board giving them a total of 32 earning them a healthy spot on the leaderboard as they continue to fight for their place in next week's show, Movie Week.The dance also got praise from viewers at home, as people were quick to notice Giovanni making the sign language gesture too.
