Stirling Albion face three away games in seven days as season heats up

Stirling Albion head for Annan this weekend for the first of three away games in the space of a week.Darren Young’s men go to Glebe Park on Wednesday to face Brechin City in the second round of the SPFL Trust Trophy then travel to Bonnyrigg Rose next weekend to take on the SPFL newcomers.The Binos head south this weekend on the back of an impressive 3-0 home win over Stenhousemuir last Saturday thanks to two goals from Dale Carrick and one for Robert Thomson, inset.The Warriors had defender Daniel Higgins sent off after only four minutes but Stirling were already in front thanks to a Carrick goal after just 75 seconds in the Forthbank sunshine.

Albion had a poor record against Annan last year, losing three times to Peter Murphy’s men and conceding three goals in each of these defeats, but did earn a 0-0 draw on their last visit to Galabank in January.Annan became the first League Two club to reach the last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup and face Aberdeen at the end of the month.

They beat Stenhousemuir 2-1 in their only home league game to date but have suffered away defeats to Stranraer and Dumbarton last weekend.Binos boss Young will have left-back Cammy Clark available after a two-match ban but former East Fife midfielder Ross Davidson is again set to miss out due to injury.Young said: “I was delighted with the performance and the result against Stenhousemuir.
