'State of the art' playground could be built on former bowling green in Tameside

A former bowling green in Hyde could be transformed into a playground with ‘state of the art’ equipment for both children and adults.Housing association Onward Homes have submitted a planning application to Tameside council to create the play area at Fields Farm Road in Hattersley.According to the developer, the bowling green has not been in use for ‘several years’, and the council confirmed it was last used in 2010.The plans come as part of the wider regeneration of Hattersley being driven by a partnership between Tameside council, Onward Homes and Homes England.It’s funded by the Hattersley Public Realm Fund, provided by residential development partner Barratt Developments.Playgrounds are currently shut across the borough due to.
