SPFL call for Nicola Sturgeon crisis talks as clubs face Scottish Government collision course over cash bailout pledge

Scottish football’s cash strapped clubs have yet to receive a single penny of an emergency bail-out which is meant to protect them from the latest coronavirus lock-down. Record Sport understands the game’s governing bodies will write to government this week seeking urgent clarification of how much money has been set aside to soften the blow of being ordered to effectively play on behind closed doors.

And they will also ask for advice from Holyrood on how the crisis cash can be accessed - two weeks after being promised that financial help was on the way.

It’s understood that assurances were made that the lifeline would be available within a week to ten days of the decision being taken to limit all crowds to just 500 - with Aberdeen
