It's a pivotal day in the 2021/22 SPFL season.Following three weeks of heavy restrictions on crowd limits, a decision is set to be made on whether to lift restrictions on outdoor events. The Premiership elected to bring forward its annual winter break after capacities were set at just 500 supporters from Boxing Day.The Championship and below elected to play on with reduced crowds in the meantime.

Top-flight action is set to recommence with Celtic hosting Hibs on Monday, January 17, to be followed by a packed card the following evening.

The good news is it's expected First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will announce that the restrictions will not be extended beyond the 17th, paving the way for clubs to throw open their doors once more.

Record Sport revealed last week that the SPFL and SFA's Joint Response Group had told clubs to prepare for the return of supporters from that date, and it appears confirmation is on its way when the FM addresses the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday afternoon.
