The son of a couple who died in a horror crash in A61 in Wakefield was on holiday in Thailand when he recieved the devastating news that his parents had died.

Lewis, 21, cut his holiday short and jetted home immediately after discovering his parents, Christopher Barton, 56, and Janine Barton, 48, died in a collision involving their motorbike and a Ford Focus, which claimed a further four lives from a seperate family, reports the Mirror.An fundraiser launched in a bid to raise money for Luke has raised a whopping £8,156 before it was abruptly shut down.

A message on the page currently reads: "Please do not donate as requested by family", with an additional update stating: "This fundraiser is no longer accepting donations."The incident, which occured on Sunday, June 21, also claimed the lives of Shane Roller, 33, his partner Shannen Morgan, 30, and their daughters Rubie and Lillie Morgan-Roller, nine and four.

Their eldest daughter Poppie, 11, who decided not to join her family and instead went to a friend's house, has been left orphaned.West Yorkshire Police said Mr and Mrs Barton, who had recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, were described by their son Lewis as "a loving, caring mum and dad who always put me before everything else."The couple's motorbike was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road before the fatal crash at roughly 3.54pm.A near neighbour of the pair, named only as Margaret, 87, said they were a hard-working couple who "loved life" and were "always laughing".
