'SNL' Sets Tentative Return Date Amid Hollywood Strikes

Saturday Night Live should be coming back soon. The long-running NBC sketch comedy television series had Season 48 cut short by three episodes when the writers walked out amid the Hollywood strikes at the beginning of May.

The show traditionally returns at the end of September or beginning of October, and is now likely to return on either October 7 or 14, pending a vote by the WGA, via Deadline. However, given SAG-AFTRA is still waiting to return to talks with the AMPTP, certain cast members may be unwilling to go back to work until that is resolved. (For example, Mayim Bialik decided against returning to host Jeopardy!

even though that game show fell under the same Network Code.) Creator and showrunner Lorne Michaels reportedly still needs to make decisions on new cast members, as well.
