For months now, the nation has been on tenterhooks about the potential date of the next general election, but the public finally got their answer on Wednesday, when Rishi confirmed it would take place on July 4 - just six weeks from now.

However, the buzz was somewhat overshadowed when live footage a short while later, showed Darren and his crew being removed from London's ExCel Centre just moments before Rishi staged an event to kick off his own campaign for re-election as the Conservative candidate.The political correspondent explained to viewers that access had been restricted due to "pooled" broadcast arrangements, which meant that only certain broadcasters could film and others would have to use shared footage.
