‌‌Shaun Ryder, lead singer of the Happy Mondays has revealed that while filming for the first series of I’m A Celebrity South Africa, his replacement hip ‘popped out’ while he was sleeping, leaving him in agony. ‌Shaun, 60, has revealed that he chose to refuse any medical help when the incident unfolded on the second night of the pre-recorded show.

He explained that, instead, it was Princess Diana ’s former butler, Paul Burrell who came to his rescue. ‌Speaking ahead of the launch of the much-anticipated new ITV series - which begins airing tomorrow - the 2010 I’m A Celeb winner said: "I had been in there two nights, and boom, f****** hell, my hip had come out. "I pushed it back in myself.

I didn’t want to see a doctor. Paul Burrell helped me out, he was a professional." ‌On discussing his new stint in the jungle, Shaun insisted: "I wouldn’t have swapped it for the world." ‌Viewers will be able to watch the dramatic scene unfold this week, along with other exciting moments from the pre-recorded series that sees previous I’m A Celeb contestants head back to the jungle. ‌The series, which has been pre-recorded in South Africa, has been hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. ‌In tomorrow night’s launch episode, viewers will see Shaun, Paul, and Janice Dickinson tackle the Tree of Torment challenge, while other campmates Carol Voderman, Amir Khan and Jordan Banjo will be walking the plank that a 50-metre drop below, in a bid to win stars for camp for their first meal. ‌Other celebrities taking part include Helen Flanagan, Fatima Whitbread, and Phil Tufnell.

It’s expected that later in the series Myleene Klass, Kate Garraway, Gilian McKeith, Joe Swash and Georgia Toffolo will be joining camp.
