Two seven-year-olds have been thanked by police for their help in finding a elderly man who suffers from dementia and went missing from his Scots home.
The 95-year-old was lost and confused in Ayrshire last weekend when he was found by Josh Bennet and Lacey Robinson. The youngsters acted quickly to contact his family, who were able to get in touch with police and return him safely to his home address.Officers have now paid a visit to the two Beith Primary School pupils' home to thank the pair for their assistance.A Police Scotland statement said: "Sgt Douglas Clark was delighted to pass on the thanks of Ayrshire Police to Josh Bennett and Lacey Robinson, both aged seven, who, at the weekend, found a 95-year-old male who was missing and suffering from dementia.
They contacted their family, who informed Ayrshire Police of this and returned the male safe and well to his home address."Sgt Clark said: "We are very proud of what Josh and Lacey have done.
