Seth Meyers Responds to Rumors That He May Replace Lorne Michaels at 'SNL'

Seth Meyers isn’t looking to take over for Lorne Michaels at Saturday Night Live anytime soon.

There’s been a significant amount of chatter online about who will replace Lorne as the head of the long-running sketch comedy series, particularly after Lorne alluded to his departure in a 2021 interview. “I think I’m committed to doing the show until its 50th anniversary, which is in three years,” he told Gayle King at the time. “I’d like to see that through and I have a feeling that would be a really good time to leave.” Seth told Deadline that while he’s “flattered” to hear that people consider him a capable replacement, it’s not something he’s interested in. The people who love that show the most, don’t agree with every choice Lorne’s made, but there is a consistency to the taste and tone of that show that I don’t think another person could replicate.
