An inspirational teenager has told how she is not letting her debilitating medical condition stop her from carving out a successful career as a football referee.
Caitlyn Hamilton was 13 when she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, an inflammation of the gut, and had to have part of her colon and bowel removed.
However, the 19-year-old, who required a feeding tube for nearly 18 months after surgery, has not allowed the lifelong condition to get in the way of her whistling ambitions.
Caitlyn, from Carluke in Lanarkshire, is a category five official and referees academy games involving young players from Celtic, Rangers, Hibs, Aberdeen, St Mirren and Dundee United.She said: “The medication I take causes chronic fatigue.
