Many Scots are in for a very warm and sunny Saturday this weekend with temperatures peaking in the low 20s - before things potentially take a turn for the worst the following day.Weather experts at the Met Office have confirmed that some Scots areas could enjoy highs of 22C on Saturday May 11 in what will be a 'bright and sunny day' with plenty of blue skies and warmth.Unfortunately though, this could be disrupted when the dominant area of high pressure moves away on Sunday, May 12, making way for scatterings of downpours - although it will still remain fairly warm.

This week has seen temperatures across the UK gradually increase and it looks as though the beginning of the weekend will be no different.

Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin has said that the 'vast majority' of the UK will experience a 'dry, fine and warmer still' day on Saturday May 11, with the mercury set to peak at 22C in Aviemore.

Elsewhere in the country, temperatures around the high teens are expected, although there could be some cloud cover in the far north which will make things feel cooler.
