Meghan Markle reveals the ‘best souvenir’ from her and Prince Harry’s Nigeria trip after receiving 20 gifts
three-day tour of Nigeria with husband Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned home last week with over 20 presents from their trip — with gifts ranging from artwork and clothing, to jewelry and literature.“It was such warm hospitality and it was a really meaningful trip,” the “Suits” alum, 42, told People.“It was incredibly memorable and special. That alone is the best souvenir to take with us — all the memories we’ve made,” added Markle, who referred to Nigeria as “my country” during her visit.Since the pair are no longer senior working members of the royal family, they were allowed to accept the many gifts they were given during their brief visit to the West African country. The Sussexes, who quit royal life in 2020, were invited to Nigeria by the country’s chief of defense staff — its highest-ranking military official.Elsewhere, Harry told the outlet that the trip was important for the couple and for the Invictus Games as a whole.“Always nice to be on the move, in a sense, but also these trips are about us being able to go out and go and focus on the things that mean so much to us and support the causes that are close to our heart,” he said.
