NHS Lanarkshire has been recognised for its commitment to a greener future with an award.The health board is making great strides towards an eco-friendly future for staff, patients and residents.NHS Lanarkshire came out top in the “Collaboration – Working in Partnership” category at the first ever NHS Scotland Assure Conference.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It has also developed various opportunities for inpatients, outpatients and staff to enjoy new improved hospital grounds and therapeutic gardening sessions.

A food growing site was also set up at Hairmyres Hospital.This has resulted in over 100kg of vegetables being grown, in NHS hospital gardens in Lanarkshire, harvested and handed over to food banks to help people in need.Vicki Trim, green health partnership lead at NHS Lanarkshire, said: “The Lanarkshire Green Health Partnership is led by NHS Lanarkshire and works with various local partner organisations.“We work closely together to increase biodiversity in local green spaces and raise awareness and confidence for those within the community to access these spaces and embrace the physical,
