Rangers have been hit with a brutal assessment by Dutch World Cup legend Wim van Hanegem who insists Michael Beale’s side “cannot play football”.
The scathing verdict comes ahead of their Champions League second leg showdown but Van Hanegem still reckons PSV Eindhoven could shoot themselves in the foot by insisting on building from the back, when the sides meet on Wednesday in the play-offs.
PSV have been criticised in their homeland media despite claiming a 2-2 draw at Ibrox and they are desperate to avoid a repeat of last year's clash at the same stage where they lost 1-0 at home to go out of the prestigious tournament to Rangers.
And van Hanegem - who won three titles, a European Cup and a UEFA Cup with Feyenoord as a player and one title as manager and was also a World Cup runner-up with the Netherlands - reckons it would be suicide if PSV continue their policy of passing the ball out from the back.
