Queen cancels today's planned engagements as she experiences mild Covid symptoms

The Queen has cancelled her planned engagements today on 22 February as she continues to experience Covid symptoms. Buckingham Palace released a statement explaining that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 95, is experiencing "mild cold-like symptoms".

However, she will continue to carry out "light duties". It's believed the rest of her engagements this week will be decided nearer the time.

A statement from the Palace read: "As Her Majesty is still experiencing mild cold-like symptoms she has decided not to undertake her planned virtual engagements today, but will continue with light duties." The Palace confirmed that she had tested positive for coronavirus on 20 February.
