Prince Harry arrived at Balmoral in Scotland an hour after the death of his grandmother the Queen was announced.The Duke of Sussex was seen sitting in the back of a car as he arrived to the estate to join other members of the royal family wearing a black suit and tie.
Harry flew into Aberdeen Airport alone, hours after brother William and other royals arrived together on an RAF plane. William was seen driving his fellow royals to Balmoral Castle as the family rushed to be by the Queen's bedside, before the sad news of her death was announced shortly after they arrived.
Harry’s wife Meghan Markle has not travelled to Scotland with him, with the Duchess remaining in London. Harry’s grandmother the Queen – the longest-reigning monarch in British history – passed away today at the age of 96.
A statement from Buckingham Palace, which announced the devastating news, read: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon." Using Charles and Camilla's new titles, it continued: “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.” The new monarch King Charles III has shared a sombre statement following the announcement of his mother, the Queen's death.
