A teacher who repeatedly molested a teenage girl has been banned from the profession for life. Andrew Oldfield, of Rochdale, was convicted of four counts of sexual activity with a child in 2020, and is currently serving a four-year prison sentence.
The offences took place in 2018 while Oldfield, 35, was a teacher at Horn’s Mill Primary School in Helsby, Cheshire. He repeatedly had sexual intercourse with his victim who wasn't a pupil at the school, CheshireLive reports.
Oldfield messaged the girl about the sordid abuse and his plans to do it again on WhatsApp. Read more: Double killer arrested after going on the run from open prison for the second time He was caught out after his victim's mother found messages from Oldfield on the lockscreen of her daughter's phone, in which he urged the girl to delete his messages.
