A man who downloaded thousands of sick images and then shared some with strangers online has been spared jail. Colin Berry, of Devonshire Road, Atherton, made "systematic and deliberate" searches for the horrifying images and had warped chats with online friends about rape, molestation and kidnap, Bolton Crown Court was told.

The court heard that some of the photographs and videos showed that the children were in "pain and distress" and that some of the images featured babies.
