People on PIP and DLA to get payment rise in April - here are the new weekly rates

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a benefit for people aged over 16 and under State Pension age who need extra help to cover the costs of daily living or getting around outside their home as a result of a physical or learning disability, long-term illness or mental health condition.

At the moment, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) could give you between £23.70 and £152.15 per week to help with these additional costs which is usually paid into your bank account every four weeks.

However, the UK Government has announced an increase of 3.1% to benefits, including PIP and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) from April.
