Pensioner dies after horror crash with bus on A9 as police appeal for information

Police are appealing for information after a pensioner died following a fatal crash on the A9 last night. The incident, near Slochd, 17 miles south of Inverness, took place at around 7.45pm on Friday, 16 September.

The crash involved a silver Audi A4 and a white Volvo B12 single deck coach.Emergency services attended and the driver of the Audi, a 73-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eight passengers from the coach were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by the Scottish Ambulance Service where they were treated for minor injuries and later released.The road was closed while collision investigation work was carried out and re-opened around 4am on Saturday, 17 September, 2022.Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3350 of Friday, 16 September, 2022.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
