Parents of baby killed in dog attack charged in connection with her death

The parents of a three-month-old baby who was killed in a horror dog attack have been charged in relation to her death. Vince King, 54, and Karen Alcock, 41, of Castledyke Bank, New York, Lincoln, were arrested on the charge of being responsible an animal that was out of control and caused injury resulting in death.

Police attended the incident near Woodhall Spa after receiving reports that a youngster had been seriously injured on Sunday, March 6.

Baby girl Kyra King, who had sustained injuries to the neck and head, was tragically pronounced dead at Ostlers Plantation The parents were detained at the scene and have now been summoned to Boston Magistrates Court for an initial hearing at 11am on Wednesday, November 9, Lincolnshire Live reports.

The dog which carried out the brutal attack has been kept isolation at secure kennels since the tragedy. Officers are currently seeking an order to euthanise the animal.Lead investigator DC Craig Davey, said: "This has been a profoundly sad investigation for everyone involved in understanding the circumstances around baby Kyra’s death."We have kept an open mind throughout this investigation, which has been lengthy and thorough and involved specialist forensic experts and officers from our Protecting Vulnerable People unit.'We have now brought charges against two people, and will continue to work with the CPS as the case makes its way through the justice system."
