Baggage pick-up can be a stressful experience, especially if you don't see your luggage after a good amount of time. It can also be tricky to spot your bag if you've opted for a black suitcase that looks similar to the majority of the others.

Many holidaymakers will opt for a ribbon or sticker to make their cases more easily identifiable. A travel expert has said that this is the right way to go about things.

Speaking to the Express, Lamia Walker - founder and CEO of Housesitmatch.com - shared some of the top luggage tricks that she has picked up during her time travelling to look after people's homes abroad. "I always buy striking luggage labels for all three items that I carry, the small suitcase, the laptop bag and the handbag," said Lamia. "Having once lost a small black suitcase in Milan Airport on the outward journey, I now always make sure my luggage is clearly marked."She added: "I was delayed at passport control and emerged to the Milan baggage claim area to find a bag identical to my supermarket issue generic case but with someone else’s clothes and personal possessions."We were both in Milan for a week-long conference but it turned out to be a different conference.

She found my business cards enclosed in the case and called me. She had no identifying markers at all in her case. Luckily we could meet the following night and swapped!"Another way that Lamia bypasses the unpleasant experience of losing a case is by opting for a small bag where possible.
