Sam Heughan fans have been left divided over his role in Channel 4's new mystery drama Suspect, also starring James Nesbitt and Anne Marie Duff.
Suspect sees James in the starring role as troubled detective Danny Frater, who is left stunned after finding the corpse of his daughter lying in the hospital mortuary during what he thought was a routine ID check.
The 42-year-old Scottish actor, who is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in Outlander, plays bad boy Ryan in the new crime thriller but fans have been left unsure about the show.
Many followers praised Heughan's performance in the gritty drama, as the actor expressed excitement about playing a character so different from what he's used to.Unsure viewers took to Twitter to rant about the 'unbelievable' show premise.One person tweeted: "Watching #Suspect and finding it all a bit far-fetched tbh," while another added: "Will they use this in detective training courses as 'spot what he’s doing wrong?'
