A former officer has been barred from policing after he met up with his colleague while on duty and 'engaged in sexual activity' in a police vehicle.
Chris Heffernan, also known as officer 177 Heffernan, was on shift for Lancashire Police when he met up with his off-duty colleague on September 18, 2019, the Liverpool Echo reports.
A misconduct panel found he had sexual activity with the colleague while in a police vehicle when he was meant to be working.
Heffernan resigned from the force while under investigation. On September 2, a Lancashire Police public accelerated misconduct hearing at Ormskirk Police Station heard his behaviour amount to gross misconduct.
