Olivia Rodrigo celebrated turning 21 by living the dream and exerting her new rights as an adult. At the opening night of her 57-date Guts world tour at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, the singer revealed that she bought something at a nearby gas station just because she could. “I went to the gas station the other day and bought a pack of cigarettes and a six-pack of beer,” the singer said during the show.
She added that she hadn’t bought the items to smoke or drink. “I promise I didn’t consume it, but I just bought it because I f—— could,” she exclaimed to an audience filled with adolescents aspiring to that dream. “Anyway, all this to say that I think growing up isn’t so scary after all and life just kind of gets better at the end,” she said, followed by her song, Teenage Dream.
