Dancing On Ice viewers were confused to spot Vanessa Bauer in the audience on Sunday night's show. Brendan Cole took to the ice with stand-in partner Brendyn Hatfield after pro skater Vanessa tested positive for Covid-19.

Brendan was confirmed to be performing with Brendyn earlier this week after it was announced that Vanessa had been struck down with Covid-19. We look forward to Vanessa returning to the competition soon," ITV explained in a statement on Tuesday. Viewers and the judges loved former Strictly Come Dancing dancer Brendan and his new partner's performance to Beggin' by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons from the musical Jersey Boys.

And guest judge Arlene Phillips gave her former Strictly colleague the first 10 of the series. But fans of the ITV skating contest were scratching their heads to see Vanessa cheering him on. @DaniiJennings asked on Twitter: "How does that work Vanessa has tested positive for covid but can still be in the audience??" @moore95_pamela said: "Great chance to hear Beggin by Frankie Valli...and why is Vanessa in the audience?" @russelltruran questioned: "Vanessa’s in the audience??" But @vampsgrandee pointed out: Just incase anyone wondering Vanessa had covid she tested negative the other day I think she put it on her insta!
