A new pub has opened in the Northern Quarter, taking over an iconic venue which sadly shut down after struggling with the Covid pandemic earlier this year.

The Mancunian Bar opened towards the end of last month on Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter, with a mural dedicated to the city on the wall and serving local beers and more.

The micropub is nestled next to Gullivers and teased its opening on social media in June. It has taken over the site of The Ancoats Lad pub which sadly shut earlier this year, citing struggles with the Covid pandemic and associated lockdowns of hospitality.

The pub features a mural by Dave Draws which celebrates 'pubs old and new in the area' and pictures from local photographers of the city.
