A mum dialled 999 and claimed that her child had been kidnapped by her school after teachers refused to let her finish 15 minutes early.

Lucy England, aged 32, had already been handed an injunction to keep away from the head teacher and business manager at the primary school due to a history of "toxic" behaviour.

A court heard how Holywell Village First School in Northumberland had received an email in November 2020, asking if England's child could be excused at 2.45pm, instead of 3pm, as reported by Chronicle Live.

When the mum arrived at the school gates, where the headteacher and manager were present, and found that her request had been refused, she proceeded to call the police.
