Scots have woken up to a winter wonderland this morning after thundersnow battered the country overnight. Heavy snowfall landed across large parts of Scotland last night, with the flurries continuing throughout the early part of this morning.

A yellow weather warning for the white stuff remains in place across the majority of the country until midday today. The Met Office has warned of travel disruption for many Scots commuters, with snow causing chaos on the roads and public transport services.
