More than 22,000 people tested positive for Coronavirus in just one week in Greater Manchester, new data has revealed. And cases are continuing to rise in all ten boroughs - with five claiming figures higher than the national average as of week ending December 17.
Trafford continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester, with a rate of 1109.9 cases per 100,000 people.
It was announced yesterday, December 20, that the figure had hit over one thousand for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
The lowest infection rate is in Wigan, where the rate is 577.2 cases per 100,000 people, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency.
