Reece Winnard, who celebrated his 24th birthday yesterday (April 15), is living with a rare, muscle-wasting disease. Over time, his Duchenne muscular dystrophy means mutations in the genes in his muscles weaken their ability to function.

It is a terminal illness which means he will sadly never recover. Due to his condition, Reece was forced to shield indoors for a year during the pandemic, being cut-off from family and friends.
