The Fabelmans star and mother of three walked the red carpet with her , Hamilton director Thomas Kail. Nominated for best actress in a drama motion picture for her portrayal of Mitzi Fabelman—a character inspired by director Steven Spielberg's mother—Williams will compete alongside Cate Blanchett (Tár), Olivia Colman (Empire of Light), Viola Davis (The Woman King), and Ana de Armas (Blonde).
Previously, won two Golden Globes for her portrayals of Marilyn Monroe in the 2011 film My Week with Marilyn (2011) and Gwen Verdon in the 2019 miniseries Fosse/Verdon.
Memorably, at the 2020 Golden Globes, Williams used her to make a moving endorsement of a woman's right to choose when or if she has children.
