Regional airline Flybe goes into administration as travellers warned of cancellations

Flybe has cancelled all scheduled flights after the regional airline ceased trading, authorities have said.Passengers who have booked with Flybe are being urged not to travel to airports by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as the company has gone into administration.Two Flybe flights from Edinburgh - one to Belfast and one to Birmingham - have been cancelled.

A flight from Glasgow to Birmingham scheduled for this evening has also been affected. Three early Flybe flights from Belfast, two from Birmingham and two from Amsterdam were all showing as 'scheduled on time' on Flybe's online flight status live tracker at 5am.Sharing news of the administration on Twitter, Edinburgh Airport said: "Important information for passengers due to travel with Flybe.

Customers should now have been contacted by Flybe advising them not to travel to the airport unless they have made alternative flight arrangements."The CAA urged ticket-holders to instead check its website for the latest information.CAA consumer director Paul Smith said: "It is always sad to see an airline enter administration and we know that Flybe's decision to stop trading will be distressing for all of its employees and customers."We urge passengers planning to fly with this airline not to go to the airport as all Flybe flights are cancelled.
