The Mean Girls musical won’t be back when Broadway reopens, producers announced today. The musical, based on Tina Fey’s 2004 film, suspended production when Broadway went dark due to the Covid-19 pandemic.The musical, with a book by Fey, music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw, opened on Broadway in 2018 and grossed $124 million by the time it close last March.
