Mean Girls has concluded its run on Broadway due to the COVID-19 pandemic and continued industry-wide shutdown of entertainment venues.

The stage production, which features a book by Tina Fey and is based on her screenplay for the 2004 original comedy film version, will not reopen.

Produced by Saturday Night Live veteran Lorne Michaels, the production grossed $124.2 million on Broadway during its run, with 980,469 total admissions.

It played 804 regular performances and 29 previews at the August Wilson Theatre. Three-time Emmy winner and Tony nominee Jeff Richmond provided the music, while lyrics came from two-time Tony nominee Nell Benjamin.
