Matthew Perry's initial toxicology report shows Friends star did not die from 'fentanyl or meth'

Matthew Perry’s death at the weekend at the age of 54 sent shockwaves around the world. The Friends star was found dead in the hot tub of his LA home just after 4PM on Saturday.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office issued an update regarding the cause of death on Monday. An autopsy has now been conducted and no foul play is suspected.On Sunday afternoon, Monday morning UK-time, the medical examiner updated the star's cause of death on its website to "deferred”, meaning more investigation will be required.

Now, a less in-depth toxicology report has been shared with TMZ, and shows fentanyl or meth did not turn up in the actor’s system.

Full toxicology testing which is still pending, and may not be available for up to six months, according to the US celebrity news outlet.LA coroner's guidelines read: "In cases where the cause of death cannot be determined at the time of autopsy, a deferred certificate will be issued until additional studies have been completed."The full report will reveal if Matthew had a harmful amount of prescription drugs in his system when he was found.
