Lasagne is one of those dishes that just hits the spot every time, especially during winter when you want something warm and comforting to enjoy for dinner.But its main downfall is often how time-consuming it can be to prepare each element, especially when it comes to the creamy béchamel found in most classic lasagne recipes.However, celebrity chef Mary Berry says that one simple switch makes the dish quicker and even creamier, and it puts an interesting twist on the popular Italian recipe.The Express reports that she came up with using chicken as the filling instead of the classic mince, paired with a creamy sauce.
Although it contains less layers than a typical lasagne, the chef says it's just as delicious.She first shared this recipe on her television show ‘Mary Berry’s Cook and Share’ but it can now also be found on the BBC website.
Describing the recipe, she wrote: “Chicken lasagne is a wonderful dish for all the family. I’ve cheated with the white sauce and made a quick creamy sauce instead."Before you start, you'll need a frying pan and a shallow 1.8L oven-safe dish.
