Queens of the Stone Age star Mark Lanegan has passed away at the age of 57.The sad news was shared by loved ones, who confirmed the musician’s death via a statement on his official Twitter account.The statement read: “Our beloved friend Mark Lanegan passed away this morning at his home in Killarney, Ireland. "A beloved singer, songwriter, author and musician he was 57 and is survived by his wife Shelley.

Mark was born in 1964 in Ellensburg, Washington and became known as a grunge icon following his work with bands The Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age and The Gutter Twins, among others.The star also collaborated with artists including Kurt Cobain and Manic Street Preachers and, outside of his work with his various bands, also released ten solo albums throughout his career.
More recently, the rocker released a memoir called Devil In A Coma in 2021, which detailed his experience of becoming seriously ill with Covid-19.
