Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.

The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (born November 20, 1942) is an American politician who served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017 and represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, Biden is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in the 2020 election. He unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and in 2008.

Meredith Woerner Deputy Editor, Variety.com President Biden’s decision to step down from the 2024 presidential campaign has elicited a wave of support from Hollywood.

Familiar faces from Biden’s campaign trail resurfaced to show their agreement with the President’s decision and reinforce their support of the Democratic party.

Many were exceedingly vocal about their desire for him to step aside and let a younger candidate take over, including the host of “Pod Save America,” Jon Favreau, who recently called out Biden’s decision to white-knuckle it through the campaign with Jon Stewart.

After Biden made his announcement, former Obama speechwriter Favreau posted that the act was “courageous and selfless.” “The President did what he’s done for the last four years – he listened to the American people and put the country’s interests ahead of his own.” A courageous and selfless decision.
