Erik ten Hag downplayed the possibility Manchester United's goalscoring issues could heap pressure on new striker Rasmus Hojlund.
United's only goal in their first two Premier League games was scored by centre-back Raphael Varane and their profligacy cost them in the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham on Saturday.
Hojlund joined United from Atalanta in a £72million deal but he is recovering from a stress hotspot fracture of the back and could be out until after the September internationals.
The 20-year-old Denmark international has a modest goalscoring record at club level of 27 goals in 87 games and United are currently operating without a specialist striker as Anthony Martial is not fully fit. "It's about belief and we believe these players because they did it last year as well," Ten Hag said. "They can score goals but it's obvious why we signed a striker. "If everything goes well, Martial is on the way back, Hojlund is also coming, so we have more players capable to score a goal.
