A train operator is telling customers to not travel on some routes tomorrow as temperatures are to reach the high 30s. Northern Rail has told people to not travel between Manchester and Hadfield, in Derbyshire, while all rail travel in the North East, East Midlands, and Yorkshire and the Humber is advised against.

At the time of writing north west travel advice is 'only travel if essential', but Northern has just updated this to 'DO NOT TRAVEL' for the Manchester to Hadfield route.

This stops at stations including Guide Bridge, Newton for Hyde, Hattersley, and Glossop. A statement on the Northern website says: "We will be reducing the number of trains running and journey times will be significantly extended due to speed restrictions in place.
