Manchester man, 19, charged with terrorism offences

Wissam Tariq Mahmoud Ziad, of Central Avenue, has been charged with a series of offences under the Terrorism Act 2000. The alleged offences include one count of Encouragement of Terrorism contrary to Section 1 TACT 2006 and seven counts of Dissemination of Terrorist Publications contrary to Section 2 TACT 2006.

Ziad is also charged with three counts of Support of a Proscribed Organisation contrary to Section 12 TACT 2000. Police say he was arrested on Tuesday (June 15) at his address in Levenshulme.
