Man hospitalised with serious head injuries after machete attack on Lanarkshire street

A man has been left with serious injuries after being attacked with a machete on a Lanarkshire street. The 31-year-old was brutally assaulted by a man on Rhyber Avenue in Lanark at around 8.35pm last night (June 9).

The suspect, along with three other men then vandalised windows of a house in the same street before driving off drove off in a dark coloured car.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

DS Jim Williamson told Lanarkshire Live : “Whilst the motive for this attack has still to be established, we believe that the man, for whatever reason, was specifically targeted. “At this time we have no description of the suspects.
