Manchester City saw three players return on Monday ahead of their opening Premier League game of the season. Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and John Stones were all at the City Football Academy after being granted extra time off following England's run to the final of the European Championship.
The trio, along with Spain's Rodri, were allowed to skip the Community Shield as Pep Guardiola tries to protect his players ahead of what could be their most exhausting season yet.
After returning on Monday, the England trio have given themselves a chance of playing at least some minutes against Chelsea on Sunday in the first step of their Premier League title defence.
Some players started at Wembley after just a few training sessions, and Guardiola has previously praised the abilities of Walker and Foden in particular to quickly get their fitness levels up.
